The purpose of Westerly Area Rest Meals WARM Inc. is to provide a continuum of care to the homeless and those in need by providing affordable housing and supportive services, to help them build self-esteem and move toward independent and responsible living.

The Warm Center’s Homeless Street Outreach Case Management Program is available to assist those in need of basic comfort and safety items, as well as case management services to individuals currently sleeping outside and homeless in Westerly, Charlestown, Hopkington, Richmond, South Kingstown, Narragansett or neighboring communities.

WARM Center’s Emergency Shelter at 56 Spruce Street provides year-round housing for adults experiencing homelessness. The shelter offers separate dormitory-style accommodations for men and women, giving guests a safe, structured environment while they work on next steps toward stability.

Family Emergency Shelter Programs

WARM Center operates two Family Emergency Shelter Programs—Harvest Homes and Family Interim Housing—to provide stability and support for families experiencing homelessness. Unlike traditional congregate shelters, both programs utilize scattered-site apartments throughout Southern Rhode Island, ensuring parents and children have a safe, private space to live while they work toward long-term housing.

WARM Center’s Supportive Homes Program is a Project 811 housing initiative designed to provide affordable housing opportunities for elderly individuals, people with disabilities, and families. The program includes six one-bedroom apartments at 54 Spruce Street in Westerly and two multi-bedroom units on Pierce Street designed specifically for families.
